On Friday, May 4, 2018, Regent Betty Taylor, Honorary Past-Regent, Nancy Morris and members of Prairie Chapter National Society Daughters of the AmericanRevolution were joined by Mayor Kristofer Turnbow, at Memorial Park in Raymore to hold a tree planting ceremony.

The Dogwood tree planted by Prairie Chapter is the official 2018 Arbor Day Tree for the City of Raymore. Memorial Park will be home to Raymore’s first arboretum. Prairie Chapter was honored to plant the tree as one of the first trees to be planted as part of The Raymore Legacy program.

As the Dogwood Tree was designated the official state tree of Missouri, Susan Bowman, State Regent, Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution, has encouraged each Missouri chapter to plant a Dogwood Tree as part of her State Regent’s project.
