Bettye “Jane” Wilson West passed away, 75, peacefully on May 17, 2018 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Sarah West-Effland (Greg), her granddaughters, Hannah and Madison Effland also of Lee’s Summit; her son William West (Angela) three grandchildren Meagan Maricle, Kyle Maricle and Conneach Ian West all of Moses Lake, Washington, and her brother Walter Hugh Wilson (Belle) of Hamilton, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Evelyn Wilson.

Jane was born on May 21, 1943 in Hamilton, Mississippi where she was raised. She was married to Bobby almost fifty years. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics and was a teacher two years before she stayed at home to raise her children.
Jane will be remembered for her beautiful smile, wisdom, faith in God despite many difficult circumstances, her love for her family and friends, and her thankfulness.

Jane was a member of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Prairie Chapter.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Hamilton Methodist Church in Hamilton, Mississippi. Burial will be at the Hamilton Friendship Cemetery following the services. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be given to the Hamilton Methodist Church, 40027 Hamilton Road in Hamilton, Mississippi, 39746.
