It’s almost time for the annual Lee’s Summit Downtown Days festival bringing fun for the entire family to the Downtown Lee’s Summit area the weekend of June 1, 2 and 3.

Every year sports fans of all ages look forward to visiting the event’s Sports Booth to visit with local sports stars, win cool prizes and catch a game on TV.

The Sports Booth, sponsored by Security Bank of Kansas City, will again provide an autograph area with local professional players and a fun area that includes a Shoot the Puck Game, Stack the Cups Contest and the popular Spin to Win Wheel. What’s new is the booth has been moved to the Lee’s Summit Medical Center sports zone located on Douglas Street in the Heart of America Dance Center parking lot.

Kicking off the fun at the Sports booth on Friday at 3:00 p.m. are soccer mascots Blue and Hat Trick Harry. Blue is from Sporting KC and Harry with the Swope Park Rangers. Then at 4:00 p.m. it’s a Red Friday thanks to Kansas City Chiefs alumni John Lohmeyer and Kendall Gammon. Many Chiefs fans may know Gammon now as the color commentator on the KC Chiefs Radio Network. Friday night will end with the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat athletics team as they celebrate the school’s championships in both football and basketball.

Saturday starts off with Sizzle from the Kansas City T-Bones, where the fun is well done. At noon the subject returns to soccer, arena soccer to be exact, as the Kansas City Comets will arrive with mascot Calvin and the team’s Galaxy Girls. Following them at 2:00 p.m. will be another team that calls the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena home, the Kansas City Mavericks. Expect mascot Mac and a shoot the puck game to provide non- stop fun till 4:00 p.m. Saturday night will end with many chances to walk away with sports memorabilia and other fun prizes. From 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. play Stack the Cup Contest, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. it’s time for the Spin to Win Wheel where players can win something from eight different teams.

Sunday kicks off with the Swope Park Rangers initial appearance at the Downtown Days Sports Booth at 11:00 a.m. Providing the finishing kick to a fun weekend at 1:00 p.m. will be the KC Phantoms arena football team along with KC Chiefs superfan X-Factor.

No matter what sport you play or love the most there will be something for everyone at this year’s Downtown Days Sports Booth June 1-3. For more information and updated appearance schedule visit www.downtowndays.org.
