Douglas Street Bridge over I-470 Will Be CLOSED on June 13 Overnight

LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE the Douglas Street bridge in both directions over Interstate 470 beginning at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, until Thursday, June 14, at 5 a.m.

LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE the Douglas Street bridge in both directions over Interstate 470 beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 11 until  Tuesday, June 12 at 5 a.m. This closure is for bridge deck work on the Douglas Street Bridge over I-470. There will be no lane closures along I-470 at Douglas Street. All work is weather permitting.

  • Northbound and southbound Douglas Street traffic will have access to the I-470 on ramps.
  • I-470 traffic will be able to exit I-470 at Douglas Street but will not be able to cross over the Douglas Street bridge.
  • Emergency vehicles ONLY will have access to Douglas Street over I-470 during the closure.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive alive.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
