The Missouri Department of Transportation will be demolishing the east half of the Douglas Street bridge over Interstate 470 (from Colbern Road to Mulberry Street) beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 13, until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 16. All work is weather permitting.

  • This demolition will CLOSE both northbound and southbound Douglas Street over I-470 from 9 p.m. on Friday, July 13, until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 16.

o   No traffic will be able to cross Douglas Street over I-470 during this time.

  • The demolition will also reduce the lanes at eastbound and westbound I-470 at Douglas Street.

o   All I-470 traffic will be routed up to the off ramps and then re-routed back onto I-470.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
