The City of Lee’s Summit is pleased to announce Anita Dickey has joined the City as director of human resources on Monday, July 2. In this position, Dickey will provide leadership and strategic planning in the implementation of human resources programs, functions and activities to ensure alignment with the City’s mission and goals.

Dickey has over 18 years of professional experience in the planning and execution of human resource related functions in both the public and private sector. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in wage and salary administration, policy development, recruitment/talent acquisition, benefits administration and employee/labor relations.

Prior to joining the City of Lee’s Summit, Dickey was the director of HR operations for Gerson Companies in Olathe, Kan., where she was responsible for compensation, benefits, performance management, workers compensation, risk management, training and labor relations. She led the company’s initiative to develop core values and established peer to peer and leader recognition programs. Dickey was also instrumental in lowering the organization’s medical spend by 32 percent.

Dickey also served as the manager of HR operations at Westar Energy for four years. Previous to that position, she worked as the manager of human resources for the City of Olathe.
