On Saturday, July 7, 2018, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office D.W.I./Traffic Safety Unit conducted a D.W.I. saturation patrol between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. This saturation patrol allowed five Deputies to target a geographical area to detect and apprehend impaired drivers while also providing high visibility traffic enforcement.

The six hour D.W.I. saturation patrol resulted in the following:
7 D.W.I. arrests
23 hazardous moving violation citations
2 felony arrests
1 felony drug arrest
1 felony in possession of firearm arrest
1 serious injury crash investigation

“The deterrent effect of saturation patrols has been proven to lower the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug impaired crashes, “ said Sheriff Forté. “We will continue to take enforcement actions to remove drunk, drugged and other impaired drivers from Jackson County roadways,”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office D.W.I./Traffic Safety Unit will be conducting saturation patrols for the remainder of the year throughout Jackson County, MO. Drivers are encouraged to refrain from driving under the influence, plan ahead, and to always wear your seatbelt.
