Local attorney Phil LeVota recently posted on his Facebook page this interesting incident involving his horses, the summer heat and the Lee’s Summit Police Department.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 11.

“Since it has been so doggone hot, my horses, Bo and Lucy (unbeknownst to me) got out of the yard and took the over a mile stroll across busy Lee’s Summit Road to the Lakewood Pool (Lakewood Property Owners Association) by themselves to get cooled down. Unfortunately for them, it was “No Horse Wednesdays” at the Pool. But the great police officers at the Lee’s Summit Missouri Police Department, especially Officer Spring and Officer Beeman, informed Bo and Lucy of their rights and contacted the horse whisperer Jeff Gardner to walk them back home to me to tell their dad what bad kids they were.

Everyone got home safe and sound and I can’t thank LSPD, Jeff, and his great wife Julie enough for getting them back safely! Great neighbors!”
