On October 6, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., you are invited to tour seven beautiful and unique homes on Lake Lotawana. The Homes Tour only happens every other year, so don’t miss your chance to see what lake life offers.

Take a leisurely drive to visit each home using the map on your tickets, or tour six of the homes free by pontoon boat, then drive to the “bonus” house on scenic Goat Hill overlooking the entire main channel from a forested bluff. The “bonus” house will also feature a complimentary tea.

Tickets for the tour are $20.00 and are available from club members or from ticket chair Carol Keller at 913-909-6376. Tickets will be available via Facebook at 2018 Lake Lotawana Homes Tour starting August 7, 2018.

There is a $2.00 service charge to buy tickets online.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Homeowner’s Association, Canoe Club, T-Bones, The Bean Counter, and Cockrell Mercantile.

The tour is sponsored by the Lake Lotawana Community Club. This public-spirited service club offers many activities and events to residents of the lake.

The club has a monthly meeting and luncheon featuring programs on many topics, and the clubhouse is used by the community for bridge, yoga, Optimist and other organizational meetings, and as a space for private events such as showers, birthday parties and as a wedding dressing area.

The club also maintains the Memorial Garden which has become a popular spot for outdoor weddings. Club members reach out to the community with an annual Easter egg hunt, school supply collection, toy and gift drive at Christmas, May baskets for home bound community members, and treat baskets for city hall employees, the fire department, the Homeowners Association staff and the Water Patrol. The club also prepares an annual Memorial Day service, honoring those in our community who have passed on. Money raised from the tour supports all of these activities as well as provides much needed funds to maintain the clubhouse.

Pontoon boats will leave from the Marina Grog & Galley (inside Gate 1) across from the community clubhouse. Pontoon rides close at 4:00 p.m. although the houses are open until 5:00. The restaurant will be open from 12:00-5:00 p.m. serving drinks, appetizers and light lunch entrees.

This tour is Lake Lotawana’s love letter to the larger community, and the community club is very grateful to all the members of the community who make it happen but mostly to the homeowners who have graciously allowed the tour to feature their homes.
