Martha Grace (Marti) Wright, 83, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri passed away on August 3, 2018 in Harrisonville.
Marti was born in Wichita, Kansas to Adrian Morris Wright and Martha Beatrice Atkeson Wright on November 20, 1934. She attended Gem Elementary, Valley Center (Ks) High School and Johnson County Community College. She worked as an executive administrative assistant for several corporations in Kansas City. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Village Presbyterian Church, Prairie Village, Kansas. Marti loved being outdoors and a highlight of her life was watching the 2017 solar eclipse with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She was an avid bird and weather watcher, painter, and prolific writer.
Marti is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert James Warfield; two grandchildren, Nichole Warfield and Zellus Dean Thompson; a great-grandchild, Logan Alexander Engle; a sister, Roseann Porter; a niece, Leesa Stout Fitzgerel; a nephew, Reid Porter; and three former spouses, Lloyd Lee Tracy, Kay Dean Warfield, and Dean L. Barber.
Marti is survived by her children, Linda Tracy Warfield Thompson and husband, John, Pleasant Hill; Dena Kay Royal, Coupeville, Washington; and Shamay Warfield and wife, Rabkah, Jacksonville, Texas; her sister, Ruth Elma Stout, Muskogee, Oklahoma; her brother, Allen Wright and wife, Mary, Downieville, California; grandchildren, Sararose Thompson Althauser and husband, Nick, Pleasant Hill; Daniel Aaron Jones, Richmond, Virginia; Andrew George Royal and fiancée, Holly Born, Lynden, Washington; Jonathan Adrian Peter Royal and wife, Alyssa, Seattle, Washington; Adrianna Grace Royal, San Diego, California; Elizabeth Saunders, Michigan; Rheachel Warfield-Scholl and husband, John, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Isaiah McMillan; Mason, Porter, Lyla, and Walker Althauser; Rayden Shipman and Rhea Scholl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art or Pleasant Hill Parks and Recreation Department.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Internment will take place at Old Mission Mausoleum, Wichita, Kansas.
