The City of Lee’s Summit held a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier today to celebrate the completion of two new hangars housing 28 units. It’s part of an ongoing improvement project at the airport.
Friday, August 10 was a day of celebration at the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport as the city unveiled new T-hangars.

Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird and other city leaders were on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier today.

Dozens of people showed up for the event.

The two new T-hangars house 28 units.

It’s part of an ongoing improvement project at the airport.

The improvements are designed to attract more customers and allow heavier aircraft to land there.

The total cost of the T-hangars was about $2.6 million.
