Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is partnering with Ageless Grace, a cutting-edge brain fitness program, to provide an Ageless Grace Seminar and Educator Certification training on Sept. 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gamber Community Center.

The Seminar will teach participants how to practice the program at home and encourages social interaction with improved attitude and outlook.

The Educator Certification trains new educators about Ageless Grace, and trains participants how to teach Ageless Grace classes.

The certification costs $390 which includes the seminar, all training and session materials. For individuals who would like to participate in the seminar only (not Educator Certified), may do so on Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $55.

The seminar and certification sessions will be led by Karen Haseley, a certified Ageless Grace Educator and Trainer, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and a Walk with Ease Instructor. Haseley has been an Ageless Grace educator since 2013 and a trainer since 2015.

For those planning to attend a paid session, registration is required and can be found at LSParks.net.

Fitness professional Denise Medved created the Ageless Grace program: 21 Simple Tools for Lifelong Comfort and Ease. This brain health program introduces physical movements, which are performed in a chair, that focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Each of the 21 Tools focuses on different anti-aging techniques, e.g., joint mobility, spinal flexibility, right-left brain coordination, bone density, muscle mass, cognitive function, fall prevention, systemic stimulation, balance, confidence, and playfulness.

For those who would like to register, please do so by August 21. For more information, contact Pat Shepard at pshepard@cityofls.net or visit www.agelessgrace.com to learn more about the program and to view Medved’s TED Talk.
