The Kansas City Mavericks hockey team has players who have become good friends, but some are closer than others as the team even has some brotherly love in the locker room this season.

During the off season the Mavericks acquired Forward David Dziurzynski. The Mavs already had on the roster his younger brother Darian Dziurzynski.

Largely due to how to say their last name the brothers simply go by DZ with their team-mates. While David is new to the Mavericks this year he is a seasoned veteran in the game now spending his ninth season as a pro hockey player. DZ’s favorite pro sports team is the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks thanks to his dad who has always been a fan of the team.

David hails from Lloydminster, Alberta Canada. His parents and two older sisters still root him on from home. As mentioned earlier he has a younger brother playing pro hockey and he is now on his second tour as a Maverick. DZ’s favorite hockey memory so far was winning the Calder Cup while with the Binghampton Senators during the 2010-11 season.

David, being from Canada, starting skating at a young age, for him it was at age four. His favorite food is steak and his favorite website is espn.com which he visits every day. If not in pro hockey today, he would be working in oil fields back home. While at home this past summer that was what David was working on. DZ’s favorite movie is “Happy Gilmore.” Following his playing days David wishes to be remembered as a good person and a good locker room guy

Come out and see the older brother when the KC Mavericks play host to the Wichita Thunder on Friday, Nov. 2nd. The fun begins inside the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena when the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
