This Thanksgiving, The Summit Church packed and delivering groceries to the local community and shipped meals around the world to people in need.

On Saturday, Nov. 17 the church and over 100 volunteers delivered Thanksgiving groceries to those in the Lee’s Summit community, who may not have a Thanksgiving meal otherwise. These groceries will allow people to prepare a meal on their own for their family. The grocery delivery directly impacted 294 households and over 1,300 people.

The church also partnered with Rise Against Hunger to pack 20,000 dehydrated meals on Thanksgiving Day for people impoverished nations. After packaged, the meals are shipped to people around the world who are experiencing hunger and so much more. More than 130 volunteers spent part of their Thanksgiving insuring others have a nutritious meal. Rise Against Hunger’s vision is to help end hunger in our lifetime.

The Summit Church is committed to helping people follow Jesus and find life. One of the church’s values is to help make a difference in the local community and around the world.
