The two teams set to play in the 60th Annual Auto Zone Liberty Bowl football game have touched down in the host city of Memphis, Tennessee. The Big 12 representative, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, arrived on Christmas day and even got one practice in before the day was through. The SEC representative, the Missouri Tigers, arrived on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers also got to work quickly getting one team practice in before heading to the FedEx Forum that night.

Both teams enjoyed an NBA game Wednesday night as the Memphis Grizzlies played the Cleveland Cavaliers. To add to the evening fun a pair of players from each team participated in a skills competition between the first and second quarter break. Before the night was done both head coaches, Barry Odom of Mizzou and Mike Gundy of Okla. State, were presented personalized jerseys from the host Grizzlies.

Thursday means getting back to work for both teams. The Tigers will conduct a morning practice that will last just over two hours. Oklahoma State will begin work at 12 noon also for a couple of hours. The day will see more time for each team to enjoy the bowl experience while in Memphis. Evening plans are for both teams to attend a welcome party held at the Bass Pro shops at the Pyramid. This venue is far from just another Bass Pro Shop that can be found here in the Kansas City area. This downtown Memphis Marvel began back in 1991 as a 21,000 seat arena simply called the Pyramid. In 2015 the arena was massively transformed to an outdoorsman’s paradise of 535,000 square feet in retail space. Following this welcome to Memphis event both Oklahoma State and Missouri will head back to their home base as they fish for a bowl victory next Monday.
