Tiff n Jays in Lees Summit, Mo., will host a St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event to raise funds and awareness for lifesaving childhood cancer research on Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. With a goal of raising $15,000, local volunteers will go bald to support the Foundation’s mission to take childhood back from cancer.

Local Jackson County resident, Jessica Troester will be shaving her head for the 8th time this year. Jessica first started organizing head-shaving events in 2011 because her college best friend is an acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) survivor. Since then she kept participating in St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events and started organizing them within the Lees Summit area.

For more information, check out the Go Bald KC event page.

One in five children diagnosed with cancer will not survive. Those who do survive often suffer long-term effects from treatment too harsh for their developing bodies. As the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants, St. Baldrick’s Foundation is leading the charge to take childhood back from cancer. Join the fight. Register. Fundraise. Show-up. Shave. You can help save kids’ lives.

Tiff n Jays is located at 700 Northeast Woods Chapel Road in Lee’s Summit.
