The Jackson County Courthouse in downtown Kansas City will be closed for business today, January 31. A water main break has caused flooding in the basement and the water is affecting the electrical areas of the building.

Jackson County Public Works is working with KCP&L to find out the cause of the water main break and make the necessary repairs.

Downtown Jackson County Associates should not report to work today. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause citizens needing to do business. The Historic Truman Courthouse, 112 W. Lexington Avenue in Independence, will be open during normal business hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
