A big week for the Lee’s Summit North Broncos boys’ basketball team ended with them being crowned the Suburban Gold Division champions. The Broncos on Monday night played host to Blue Springs in a game postponed due to weather. On a night the Broncos honored 10 seniors the team earned a 68-48 victory. Tuesday night saw the Broncos visit the Blue Springs South Jaguars in a regularly scheduled conference game. The Broncos won 79-68 to remain perfect in conference play at 9-0 and 21-3 overall. A third game this week was played on Thursday night when the Broncos traveled to play at Park Hill. Senior Javaunte Hawkins led the way with a team high 44 points as the Broncos won 67-60 to end the regular season at 22-3. The win capped a perfect conference record at 10-0.

Up next for the Broncos is opening district play next Tuesday night against rival Lee’s Summit at 5:30 p.m. The Broncos enter the post-season as the second seeded team in the Class 5, District 13 tournament that will be played at Lee’s Summit North.
