Lee’s Summit North vs Rockhurst
The District 13 title game pitted the top two seeds in the tournament as expected but the start and end of the game provided surprises for those filling up the Broncos field house. The Rockhurst Hawklets limited the Broncos offense to just two free throws in the entire first quarter leading 11-2 after one quarter. The Broncos scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to extend their lead to 15 as the second-seeded Broncos won the District 13 title on their home floor 61-48. Following a shocking first quarter for Broncos players and their fans they flipped the script in the second quarter by outscoring Rockhurst 20-3 to enjoy a 22-14 half time lead. In the second half the Broncos kept extending their lead as they got the upset win many in the field house were hoping for.

With the win, the Broncos are now 24-3 on the year and advance to the Class 5 Sectional round which will be played at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Broncos winning effort on Friday night was led by Mikel Henderson with 20 points, Guard Javaunte Hawkins was right behind him at 18 points. Up next for the Broncos is a sectional game against the District 14 champion on Wednesday, March 6 with a game time of 8:15 p.m.
