City Begins Second Phase Of Strategic Planning Process

Apr. 13, 2019

The City of Lee’s Summit is beginning the second phase of its strategic planning process and inviting residents and stakeholders to attend a Community Conversation to review and provide additional input on a draft strategic plan framework. The first Community Conversation will be April 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Missouri Innovation Campus, 1101 NW Innovation Pkwy. The second Community Conversation will be April 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Aspen Room at The Stanley, 308 SE Douglas St.

More than 500 community members provided input during the first phase of the strategic planning process, through Community Conversations, focus groups and online engagement. Using community engagement results, City Council drafted a strategic plan framework, which includes a draft vision statement and critical success factors. At the upcoming Community Conversations, attendees will review the strategic plan elements and give additional input.

“We need every resident to come out and have their voice heard through one of these Community Conversations. This is an opportunity to tell City leaders what direction to go,” said Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird. “We want to ensure everyone in our community is represented, so we are able to make the best decisions possible. This process is critical for our long-term health as a community.”
