At our regularly scheduled June 4th, 2019 Board of Aldermen meeting there will be a presentation from the Missouri State Auditor’s Office regarding the petitioned audit for the City of Raytown. Board of Aldermen meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. at the Raytown City Hall located at 10000 E. 59th Street, Raytown, MO 64133

At the meeting a representative from the State Auditor’s Office will make a brief presentation to the governing body and public to explain the audit process and answer questions.

This presentation will be open to the public.

The presentation will be recorded and streamed as well for open viewing by the public. After the meeting the Auditor’s Office will begin the field stage of the audit process, which includes the auditors working with City of Raytown staff gathering records and information.

The scope of the audit will mainly focus on the timeframe from November 1, 2017 through October 31, 2018. The audit can take up to six (6) months and is estimated to cost $75,000 – $100,000 and pursuant to Section 29.230, RSMo the City of Raytown will pay the actual cost of the audit upon the completion of the audit.

“The City staff did not request the audit, but we will cooperate with Auditor Galloway’s staff. Our staff will continue to operate in a transparent manner and is open to the recommendations from the State Audit Staff,” said City Administrator, Damon Hodges. The City Administrator further stated, “I look at the audit as a tool to assist City staff to continue to focus on efficiency and make improvements for addressing the concerns of its citizens.”
