A Raytown man has been sentenced to 40 years in a Missouri prison after he pleaded guilty Friday to child-sex charges after telling police he had multiple sexual encounters with girl under 10, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced recently.

Zachary R. Sprowls, dob: 9/19/1990, on Friday pleaded guilty to two counts of Statutory Rape 1st Degree. He was sentenced to 20 years on each count and the sentences were set to run consecutively.

According to court records, Sprowls admitted to about 50 sexual encounters with the victim when she was between the age of 7 and 9. The victim detailed these encounters for detectives in the Independence Police Department. She stated he also threatened her in some way to make sure she would not tell on him. And he kept photos of her on his phone.
