Cross Creek At Lee’s Summit Assisted Living Memory Care, located at 3320 NE Wilshire Dr. in Lees Summit planned a very special day to recognize their residents.

The day kicked off with City Councilwoman Phyllis Edson reading the proclamation from Ronald Reagan.

Each resident was given an award while a brief biography was read about each of them as they received their award.

The staff and residents learned several interested facts about one another. The most important fact that the staff learned was that most residents had been married 70 years or longer.

One resident that had been married for 76 years was asked what their trick was to making a marriage last, she simply replied that they didn’t go to bed angry with each other.

The special day continued on with a delicious chef prepared lunch and followed with musical entertainment and a popcorn bar.

It was indeed was a great day for the residents.
