The Raytown Police Department will present the 2019 Safety Fair on Sept. 14, 2019 from 10 am to 2 pm.

This FREE event, for all ages, will be held at The Point, 5600 Blue Ridge Cutoff.

The 2019 Safety Fair, organized by the Raytown Police Volunteer Corps, will offer indoor and outdoor activities, information about local emergency services, crime prevention tips, and much more.

Have your picture taken in the back of a police car, try on SWAT equipment, paint rocks with Raytown Rocks, learn about gun safety and receive a free gun lock. Meet the horses of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Posse, obtain information about domestic violence resources, elderly services programs, and pet emergency preparedness.

There will be representatives from Hope House, the Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA), Crime Stoppers and Operation Lifesaver at the event.

LifeGuard® Youth Development will be presenting The Drive OF Your Life™ again. The Drive of Your Life™ is a fun, interactive, situational simulation that gives children 11 and older a chance to practice making healthy decisions in their life. The Drive of Your Life™ helps teens recognize some of the hazards that could detour them from reaching their future goals. All those who participate in the interactive exhibit will receive a free t-shirt.

Another addition to the Safety Fair this year is the Missouri Child Identification Program (MoCHIP). This free comprehensive child identification program is designed to give families a measure of protection should a child go missing. It only takes about 15 minutes, and parents will walk away with a USB device containing the child’s physical description, photos, digital fingerprints, dental impression and other pertinent information needed by emergency personnel to help locate your child should they go missing. None of the child’s information is retained by MoCHIP; only a signed permission form is retained.

Many more exhibitors will be there, so stop by and see us on Sept. 14!
