Fort Osage at Lee’s Summit West (Friday Night Lights Stop)
LS West looks to get well at home after a road loss to Park Hill a week ago. Fort Osage has yet to score this season. The Titans will enjoy their home opener with a win over the Indians on this night.
Lee’s Summit at Belton (Pub Pick of the Week)
The Tigers look to bounce back from a season opening loss with a visit to Belton. The Pirates are disappointed after a road loss to Ruskin. Expect the Tigers to enjoy this road trip coming back home with a win.
St. Joe Central at Lee’s Summit North
The Broncos play before their fans at Bronco Stadium for first time since 10-3 post-season loss to Rockhurst. The Broncos lost a close game a week ago on the road. This week the Broncos will make sure it’s not a close outcome in their first win on the season.
St. Michael at St. Pius X
The Guardians month long road show to open the 2019 season continues this time a trip up north at St. Pius X. Neither team scored a week ago in season opening losses. Warriors veteran coach Rick Byers will get his group ready to win at home on this Friday night.
Summit Christian at Bishop Ward
After a big shut out in week one it’s time for the Eagles to meet the Cyclones in Kansas. Bishop Ward like all Kansas teams are just starting their 2019 season. The high octane offense of the Eagles will benefit of having played a game and will win again this week.
Raytown at Oak Park
The Blue Jays are a confident bunch after beating the BS South Jaguars last week. The high flying Blue Jays head north this week to play this game at the North Kansas City District Activities Complex. When it’s done the Blue Jays will have their second win on the year.
Winnetonka at Raytown South
The Cardinals will be at home but will have to stop the Griffins ground game led by Montre Moore. Ray South enters 1-0 but will be unable to keep up scoring with the Griffins as the Cardinals drop this one.
Blue Springs South at Ray-Pec
A big early season game for these two teams as Jaguars almost came away with a win vs Raytown. Ray Pec shut out Park Hill South 35-0. Ray Pec enjoys playing at home and will win again this week but by a smaller margin over the visiting Jaguars.
Rockhurst at Blue Springs
These two teams usually play for state titles but for this one night it’s just for bragging rights. The Wildcats didn’t use all their offensive might in a 37-13 win last week over Chrisman. Expect Blue Springs to use everything they have this week in a big win over their rival Rockhurst.
Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville (Celebrity Forecaster, NBC 41 Sports-Ryan Marshall)
The Chiefs firmly have a bullseye on their backs as a legit Super Bowl contender. Most people know what the Chiefs offense will bring. How will the new look defense play? I don’t think the Chiefs will run away with this game like most people think. However I still believe they get an early season road victory at Jacksonville.
