It’s Week 3 of the 2019 NFL season and the league is going to let the Kansas City Chiefs finally take the field at Arrowhead Stadium. Just like last season the Chiefs opened the year with two road games before heading home to play in front of their avid fans. So far the results this season mirror those in 2018 as the Chiefs won both road games before their home opener. Now that the Chiefs are here at home their fans are in for a treat as two of the four remaining undefeated AFC teams will play each other.

The Baltimore Ravens come into Kansas City at 2-0 thanks to the play of a hot QB named Lamar Jackson. The Chiefs hit the field at 2-0 thanks to the play of this week’s AFC offensive player of the week QB Pat Mahomes. Chiefs fans may recall the last meeting between these two teams as it turned out to be very entertaining and didn’t end until Harrison Butker’s 35-yard field goal gave the Chiefs a 27-24 win in overtime.

The Ravens have been impressive on both sides of the ball to get to this point. One-time Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson has always been known for his running ability, but now has improved his passing game giving the Ravens another offensive threat. The Ravens defense has always been a top rated one in the NFL and so far this season nothing has changed that. The Chiefs got to this point by piling up points on offense as the team piled on the miles just to get to their game sites. They opened up the season traveling east to Florida to play the Jaguars and won easily 40-26. Then the Chiefs headed out west to Oakland where they scored four second quarter touchdowns in a 28-10 victory.

Both teams have playoff aspirations so the outcome of Sunday’s game could have implications in the playoff race near the end of the season. The Ravens are the third straight AFC team the Chiefs have played this season with an NFC member up next in Detroit. The Chiefs are sitting pretty at the moment at 2-0 and all alone in first place in the AFC West division.

Sunday will see strength vs strength as the highly ranked Ravens defense goes up against the high flying KC Chiefs attack. This meeting will be much like the one we saw last December 9 where it will remain close but this edition will end after four quarters and with a Kansas City Chiefs home win. That’s What I REID Into It for this week.
