Lee’s Summit native Daniel Valmassei was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Performer of the Week after winning two swimming events at a meet held at VMI or Virginia Military Institute. Valmassei, a junior at Davidson, was given the honor on Tuesday thanks to his first place finishes in the 1 meter and 3 meter competitions.

Valmassei, a 2017 Lee’s Summit North graduate, won the 1 meter event easily with 334 points, more than 70 points over his closest competitor. The 3 meter event was dominated by Valmassei who finished with 304.55 points which was more than 40 points over his closest competitor. The VMI meet was held on Friday, Oct. 11, a meet the Davidson Wildcats won by a score of 185-114. Up next for Valmassei and his teammates is a meet this weekend vs George Mason University in Richmond, Virginia.
