The Kansas City Mavericks opened the 2019-20 season last week returning only eight players from the team they assembled last year. One of the newcomers expected to make a big difference is forward Jack Walker.

Walker may be new to the Mavericks but not the league as he spent time with the Utah Grizzlies a year ago. Prior to that Walker played pro hockey in Denmark. The third year professional’s new team given nickname is Walks.

Walker hails from Edina, Minnesota which is near Minneapolis. No surprise then that his favorite pro sports team is the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL. Walks parents and four siblings still reside back home in Edina.

Walker’s favorite hockey memory so far was being drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round of 2016 NHL entry draft. Walks first put on a pair of skates at the age of three. Walker’s favorite website to visit every day is Youtube. If not in pro hockey today Walks feels he would be in real estate.

A bowl of chili sounds good at this time of year but it’s Walker’s favorite food no matter what time it is. Walks favorite sports movie is “Sandlot” which is a big hit with the Mavericks team this year. Following his playing days Walker hopes to be remembered as a guy who was a pro & put his team first.

Check out this talented new Forward when Walker & the KC Mavericks play host to the Toledo Walleye on Friday, Oct. 25. The fun begins inside the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena when the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
