The planning commission has recommended approval for Storage Mart’s special use permit application. The requested permit is a renewal for a mini-warehouse storage facility and limited outdoor vehicular storage.

The facility, located near SE M-291 Highway and Highway 150, includes 23 outdoor storage buildings and an office structure. A special use permit was initially approved by the city council in Aug. 1994 for a period of 25 years. The renewal will expire in Aug. 2044.

After brief presentations from the applicant and from city staff, the commissioners voted unanimously to recommend approval. The city council will vote on the application at their next meeting.

Commissioners Jason Norbury and Terry Trafton were absent from the Oct. 24 meeting.

No other new business was presented.
