A new name that Mavericks fans should get to know this season is forward Mitch Hults. Hults is a veteran who has experience playing in both the ECHL and AHL.

Halty as his new teammates call him is enjoying the start of his third year in pro hockey here in Missouri. Previously the 21 year old has played for San Diego and Syracuse in the American Hockey League. His ECHL stints have been with the Utah Grizzlies and Orlando Solar Bears.

Now the Mavericks points leader on the 2019-20 season which has been as of press time a total of six games, Hults has six points on the season with a goal and five assists. Doing this well to start the season on the ECHL level on Tuesday this week the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League called Hults up. Halty is expected to return to the Mavericks when some injured Heat players are able to return to action.

Hults favorite pro sports team is the NFL’s Green Bay Packers who just spent last weekend in Kansas City to play the Chiefs. The Packers is his team because Halty hails from Madison, Wisconsin making Green Bay his hometown team. Rooting Hults on from home are his two brothers, mom and dad and his grandma.

Halty’s favorite hockey memory so far has involved his family as it happened when he played junior hockey with his younger brother for the Madison Capitols. Hults first put on a pair of skates at age three. Halty’s favorite website to visit daily is Google.

If not in pro hockey today he would be playing lots of golf. Hults favorite food is enchiladas and his favorite sports movie is “Miracle.” Following his playing days Halty wishes to be remembered as a sound player.

Check out the Mavericks when they host their division rival Wichita Thunder on Saturday, Nov. 2 on what is being called Joker vs Batman Game. Fans of all ages will enjoy seeing the Mavericks play the game while wearing specially made Joker uniforms. The fun inside the Silverstein Eye Centers arena begins when the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
