Thursday served as the final day for media to visit with the coaches and players of the two Super Bowl teams. The Kansas City Chiefs held their final press conference this morning and the event started with Head Coach Andy Reid. Reid addressed the improvement in his team’s defense since week 11 of the regular season “Guys have bought in to what Spags wants to do”. Spags being current KC Chiefs Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

Before the visit with the media ended Reid was asked about his time spent as an assistant at University of Missouri “Loved my time in Columbia, a great place”. “Enjoyed working with Bob Stull”. Reid added how he kids his Offensive Coordinator Eric Bienemy about the Mizzou vs Colorado game that CU won thanks to an officiating error. “I remind him how it took 5 downs to beat us”.

Later it was Chiefs Safety Tyran Mathieu’s turn at the podium. Tyran was asked about his & DE Frank Clark point of emphasis with their defensive teammates “Show just our character and how we practice every day”. When asked about his Super Bowl week “Just fine tuning that information given to us in KC this week, focus on the game ahead”. Tyran ended with “Proud of our guys”.

The Chiefs held a team practice after the media session then one last practice is set for Friday. The Chiefs have been working out and practicing at the Miami Dolphins indoor facility this week located in Davie, FL.
