Phyllis Edson recently announced she has filed for re-election for City Council. Edson currently serves on Council representing District 3.

“City Council is in the process of planning for the future of this city. I want to continue to be part of that planning and ensure that Lee’s Summit is prepared for the next generation. Infrastructure, economic development and attainable housing will be important discussions for the 2020 Council.”

“During my first term in office, Council put before the voters ballot questions to approve bond issues for the replacement of three fire stations, increased pay for public safety employees and all core city employees and began a strategic planning process to prepare for city growth. I’m anxious to see some of these projects through to fruition,” she said.

Edson earned a Certified Municipal Official designation from the Missouri Municipal League while serving her first term. This is designation requires the completion of specific courses and trainings in municipal and local government through conferences and webnairs.
