Bringing new meaning to NEW to the team is Roshen Jaswal a recent addition to the Kansas City Mavericks. Roshen is just three weeks into his professional hockey career. Jazzy, as his new teammates call him, joined the pro hockey ranks on Saturday, Feb. 22 and played in the Mavs game at Utah the next day on Sunday, Feb. 23.

Before that weekend in Utah, he was completing his college career at St. Olaf. Jazzy’s favorite pro sports team is the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks. This love of team is due to growing up in the area and just always loved them. Roshen’s home town is Burnaby, British Columbia where his mom, dad a brother, a sister and even some cousins root him on from home.

Jazzy’s favorite hockey memory so far was playing in his first pro hockey game for the Mavericks. Roshen first put on a pair of skates at age three. Jazzy loves to visit the website prowrestling.net as he admits to being a big wrestling fan. If not in pro hockey today Roshen feels he would be doing his podcast he did while in college. He majored in kiniesiology, but is interested in a career in broadcasting.

Jazzy admits that his favorite sports movie is “Miracle.” Following his playing days Roshen wishes to be remembered as “being great on the ice, but also in the locker room.” Here in the states, NCAA March Madness is well underway but that doesn’t phase Jazzy much, “Not into it,” but does follow North Carolina when he does follow it each year.

Check out Jazzy and the rest of the Mavericks when they play host to the Tulsa Oilers on Sunday, Mar. 15. This Mountain Division match up begins with a 4:05 p.m. faceoff inside the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
