Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation (LSPR), in accordance with the Jackson County Stay-At-Home Executive Order, will be closing all park playgrounds effective March 24 and extending the closure of LSPR facilities and suspension of programs through at least May 15. This includes all recreational programming, activities, leagues, events, childcare, rentals, adult and youth activities, fitness classes and paid programming.

LSPR will continue to work with patrons to reschedule or provide refunds for impacted programs and rentals. Annual Facility Memberships are extended for the total number of days closed. Flex Memberships have been refunded for March and will not be charged for April or May.

LSPR’s parks and trails will remain open and available for patrons to exercise and maintain physical and mental well-being during this challenging time. When using these amenities, patrons should comply with the Jackson County executive order, requiring social distancing and also follow personal hygiene recommendations as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control. Patrons showing symptoms should not use the amenities. Park water fountains are currently closed to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.

LSPR will continue to provide periodic updates. Check LSPR’s webpage at LSParks.net, the LSPR Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LSParksAndRecreation/, or the City of Lee’s Summit’s coronavirus webpage at https://cityofls.net/coronavirus for updates as we monitor information on the progress of COVID-19.
