Ecologix is a Midwest-based energy efficiency company with a strong presence in Kansas City. The company’s core business has included converting older inefficient lighting to modern LED technology, resulting in savings of 50% to 70%. They have also installed solar power systems that increase energy independence for commercial, nonprofit, and residential clients.

But four weeks ago, they received an inconspicuous email from a long-term manufacturing partner offering to airlift millions of filtering facial respirators (FFR) that offer a filtration rate of 95%, as urgently needed by hospitals, medical and dental offices, nursing homes, food processing, and first responders, among others.

Tim Truesdale heads up the KC office, and quickly put together a new venture using local talent to set up an online store at www.ecohealthkc.com, which can serve all 50 states. Current offerings include masks and hand sanitizers that are in high demand. Ecohealth KC remains on the lookout for products and services that answer a national demand for the everyday necessities to address the challenges that COVID presents. On one hand, they want to be a “one stop shop” for businesses and nonprofits who need to provide increased protection for customers and staff. They also want to serve individuals who are taking a proactive approach to taking responsibility for protecting themselves and stopping the spread of the virus.

As of today, there are 33 Million unemployed workers in the USA, which is the highest percentage since the Great Depression. Ecohealth KC is finalizing plans to engage furloughed and unemployed staff to help with packaging and shipping to supplement their other income and stay busy and productive.
