Blue Springs at Lee’s Summit North (Friday Night Lights Tour Stop)
LS North returned to the victory column in a big way last week with a 39-point win, this week the victory will arrive by a shorter margin. Last week Blue Springs fell on the road at Liberty North, this week a road loss at nearby Lee’s Summit North.
Lee’s Summit at North Kansas City
The Tigers went north last week to play Park Hill on their homecoming night, this week they venture up north again this time visiting the North Kansas City Hornets on their homecoming night. The Tigers are perfect in the Suburban Red conference at 2-0 and will remain that way when this one is over as the Tigers take a close one.
Rockhurst at Lee’s Summit West (Jake’s Take)
LS West comes into this match up against Rockhurst riding high after a big win against previously unbeaten Ray-Pec. I think this sets up a typical let down game for West coming off a huge win and now facing a very tough opponent. Because of that, I’m picking Rockhurst 31-24.
University Academy at Summit Christian (Homecoming game at UCM, Friday at 7pm)
Time for the SCA Eagles to celebrate homecoming and the event has been moved to the UCM campus to allow more attendees. The Eagles gave Head Coach Todd Berck his 100th win last week and despite the longer commute for a home game they give him win 101 on this Friday night.
Belton at Raytown
After a struggle the Blue Jays fell to Kansas power St. Thomas Aquinas last week by two touchdowns, 28-14. This week the Blue Jays face the surprising 4-0 Belton Pirates. Raytown is at home and already has three games in a row scoring 48 or more points this year. Blue Jays return to the victory column when this one is done.
Diamond at St. Michael (Game played at LS North, Saturday at 1p)
Coming off from their first win of the season the Guardians look for a repeat this week hosting Diamond. St. Michael’s is flying high after scoring a season high 49 points last week and will stay on a roll for at least another week with a win over a team visiting from Southwest Missouri.
Raytown South at Truman
Both Ray South and Truman have had a difficult first half of the 2020 season. Both teams enter with a 0-5 mark and looking to elusive first win. The Cardinals have been shut out twice this year and travel to Truman. The Patriots lost their braggin’ rights game at William Chrisman last week but rebound to win this one at home.
Blue Springs South at Ray-Pec
The Ray Pec Panthers took their new #1 state ranking to LS West last week and fell short 34-27. The Panthers now return home to host the Jaguars. If you can get a ticket to this one I would use it as the Jags will give the Panthers some trouble but in the end will fall to 0-6 as Ray Pec gets well at home.
Mizzou at Tennessee (Kickoff at 11am on Saturday)
Mizzou started their season at home a week ago playing host to Alabama and came away with an expected loss. This week the Tigers get up early for a road test in Tennessee that kicks off at 11am. The Vols are ranked #21 in the NCAA Top 25 and will play well enough to earn another win on the season.
