A favorite Lee’s Summit pizza restaurant is celebrating its rebrand with a month of events, including specials for community heroes and a name-the-pizza contest that will net one lucky winner free pizza every month for a year.

Waldo Pizza Lee’s Summit is now known as Summit Pizza, a name change that honors the restaurant’s close ties to the community.

“As we now branch out on our own, we wanted our new brand to reflect our commitment to the community,” said Susan Sims, who owns the restaurant. “We’ve been serving Lee’s Summit great-tasting pizza for 15 years and we’re excited to continue for another 15.”

Summit Pizza will continue to offer fresh, hand-tossed pizza made from high-quality ingredients as well as a wide range of gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. The restaurant, located at 1543 NE Douglas Street, is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Summit Pizza is open for socially-distanced dining, takeout, delivery and curbside pick up.

The new name comes with a new logo, new interior design, an updated online presence and a few additional menu items. Summit Pizza will mark the occasion with a month of events and celebrations designed to honor the community.
