Jacqueline Rae (Cripps) Isberg

Jacqueline Rae (Cripps) Isberg was reunited with God and Jesus in Heaven on September 15, 2020.  Jacque left her home in Rochester, New Hampshire, peacefully, and ascended to join her parents, Garlen and Ula Faye (Benmark) Cripps and her brothers, Roland and Michael Cripps and many amazing family members and friends who were patiently awaiting her arrival at the Pearly Gates.  Jacque will be sorely missed by her husband of 50 years, Larry Isberg; her son, Michael Isberg & Paige Williams; sisters Alecia Cripps and LaDora & Steve Braby; her Aunts Eleanor Berry and Neva Vaughn; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand nieces and nephews.

During her time on Earth, Jacque made many friends and was deeply loved by her family.  This was due to her incredible kindness and generosity.

According to her son, Michael:

When I was a child, every-time I was sick or scared or upset, Mom would hold me and sing to me.  Her voice was magnificent and beautiful.  She would sing “Old Rugged Cross” and “You are my Sunshine”.  She loved to host gatherings at our house so family and friends could come together and celebrate Holidays and Life.  I hope to someday to be as good and nurturing a parent as her.

According to her sister LaDora:

Jacque was one of the most generous people I have ever known. Whenever family came to visit from out of town, they would go to her home first. When I broke my foot and couldn’t stay at my home for a while, she and Larry gave up their bed so I could be in a place with no steps. We held many holiday celebrations in their home and all were always welcomed. She is greatly missed.

According to her sister Alecia:

One of the things I most enjoyed about Jacque was her sense of humor. One day, when we were in our late 50’s and not as slim and trim as we used to be, she proclaimed to me that we both needed to buy a Moped Scooter. She said, “Look at all the money we could save on gas.” Then we both started to laugh when she said, “Can’t you just see us going down the highway on our Mopeds”  as she physically imitated us bouncing along on our Moped Scooters.

Jacque’s remarkable journey on Earth began on June 12, 1948 in Gladwin, Michigan.  She was the second child of Garlen and Ula Faye whose family grew to five children total.  According to Ula Faye, Jacque quickly developed a penchant for cooking and tried to be the conciliator in the family.  While attending the Gladwin Schools, Jacque enjoyed band, serving as the Drum Major, and academics, graduating as Salutatorian of the Gladwin High School Class of 1966.

Jacque’s love for healing led her down the path of Nursing and she pursued a degree in Nursing at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing (ISH) in Independence, Missouri. In 1970, Jacque graduated with a diploma in Nursing and with AA Degree from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa.

On April 19, 1970 Jacque married her high school sweetheart, Larry Isberg and they initially settled in Independence, Missouri.  Jacque also started her career as a staff nurse in the Nursery at ISH.  One of Jacque’s great joys was providing comfort and healing for newly born babies and eventually Larry and Jacque welcomed their son, Michael into the world in 1975.

Due to Jacque’s immense intelligence, strong work ethic and drive to help people, she advanced through the ranks to become a Head Nurse, Inservice Educator, Nursing Instructor at the hospital affiliated Jennie Lund School teaching LPN and Surgical Tech students Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, and CPR.

Later she taught courses at UMKC School of Nursing on Hospital Information Systems. She was asked to head the ISH Patient Audit Unit that reconciled patient billings with the Medical Record. Then she became the Project Manager for a new Patient Accounting System. Jacque was the Project Manager at the hospital implementing 27 more new computer systems and becoming the Assistant Director of Information Systems.

In 1996 she joined CTG Healthcare Solutions as a Nurse Consultant working with numerous hospitals in the USA to implement and upgrade their Information Systems.  Her last consultancy was at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, New Hampshire where she joined the staff as a Senior Systems Analyst and Project Manager implementing systems for 5 years before she retired in 2012.

Jacque also continued her education and earned a BA from Park College in Parkville, Missouri, followed by a MA and MBA degrees in Information Systems from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri. She was awarded the Distinguished Student Certificate by Webster University for both of her Masters Degrees.

Even though Jacque worked hard, she always made time for her family and friends.  In fact, her relationships with her family and friends could be called her greatest accomplishment and why she will be so sorely missed.  Jacque enjoyed quilting, reading, collecting dolls, working on gift-projects for family and friends.  Most of all, Jacque was the most gracious of hosts, her door and her heart ever open to the people in her life.

The family warmly thanks the Wentworth Hospice program staff for the wonderful care they provided to Jacque. We would also like to say a Special thanks to Melissa, the LNA that has been coming three times a week for almost 4 years to help get Jacque out of bed, into her wheelchair, so she could go to her hair and doctor appointments, and was Jacque’s companion when we dined at the area restaurants. Melissa, you are part of our family.

Jacque was buried in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin, Michigan. A Celebration of Life Memorial Lunch for family and friends is planned for October 18th at the Fraternal Order of Police Western Central Missouri Regional Lodge #50 at 914 NW Main Street in Lee’s Summit, MO.  Please RSVP Michael Isberg at mpisberg@hotmail.com if you wish to attend.
