The Lee’s Summit Chamber is excited to announce staffing changes, a result of positive growth, ahead of 2021.

Veteran staffer of over 20 years, Cathy Young, will transition into the new role of Director of Operations to oversee daily management of the organization.

Longtime Lee’s Summit resident and active Chamber member, Lisa Frogge, will take over as Director of Membership and Ad Sales.

Cathy Young joined the Chamber in 1999, as an Administrative Assistant, when the organization’s staff consisted of only three individuals. Over her twenty-plus years with the Chamber, her role grew and evolved to oversee membership, recruitment and retention. In 1999, the Chamber consisted of roughly 500 members and over Cathy’s tenure that number has nearly doubled. She has been a vital resource for the Chamber and a key ingredient in its success.

“I could not be more excited to take on a new challenge and help the Chamber grow in a new capacity. After twenty-plus years with the Chamber, I am looking forward to championing my successor as their teammate and biggest cheerleader. Having worked with Lisa Frogge as a valued member, I know she will prove so positive for our team and our organization!” said Young of her transition to a new role.

Lisa Frogge has lived and worked in the Lee’s Summit area for over 30 years and comes to the Chamber from Main Event Entertainment. With a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from University of Missouri-Kansas City and an Associate of Arts from Longview Community College in Lee’s Summit, Lisa’s roots have always been in Missouri. She has always been passionate about Lee’s Summit and has used each of her previous positions to unite and bring joy to those in her community. Through roles in sales, wedding coordination and event planning, Lisa knows how to bring people together. In a time where uniting the community is crucial to the success of area businesses, Lisa will prove to be a wonderful asset to the Chamber.

“I am someone who sees our community like a puzzle – the pieces are most successful when they come together to form something beautiful. I look forward to bringing businesses together, building new relationships and nurturing existing ones. The Chamber has always been close to my heart and I hope to serve them, and my community, in this new role.” Frogge said.

Matt Baird, President of the Lee’s Summit Chamber, announced these staff changes to the Chamber’s Board of Directors at a Board Retreat on Wednesday, October 21.

“We are excited to have Lisa on staff to continue strengthening the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce. She comes to us with great experience, passion and the knowledge of what it takes to make an organization run successfully. In addition to Lisa, we are excited to have Cathy’s years of experience, knowledge and professionalism build upon our foundation and contribute to our success in the future.” Baird said in an address to the board.

The Lee’s Summit Chamber was incorporated in 1968 and is a member-supported organization of businesses dedicated to creating opportunities for business success through networking, advocacy, and business and professional development. For additional information, call the Chamber at 816-524-2424.
