Lee’s Summit’s three Price Chopper locations are giving back to local nonprofit Lee’s Summit Social Services this month through their Community Assistance Initiative.

Shoppers at all three Price Chopper locations in Lee’s Summit – 251 SW Greenwich Drive, 937 NE Woods Chapel Road and 1600 SE Blue Parkway – will have the opportunity to add $1, $5 or $10 to their bill for the entire month of October, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to Lee’s Summit Social Services and its ongoing mission to assist the community with weekly groceries, utility and rent assistance and in other areas.

“We have always valued our local partnerships with the family-owned Price Chopper groceries here in Lee’s Summit,” LSSS Executive Director Matt Sanning said. “When we found out we would be the local beneficiary of this generous gift, we were thrilled. We know this is a difficult time for many families and any giving at the register will truly be done from the heart.”

Price Chopper Chief Marketing Officer Casie Broker said the communities are fortunate to have organizations like Lee’s Summit Social Services providing a safety net during times of individual need.

“We want to spark neighbors-helping-neighbors,” Broker said. “That’s why we worked to find organizations in each part of the Kansas City metro that really help with the basics. Price Chopper is owned by four families that work and live right here in Kansas City, so we see the need.”

LSSS will receive 100 percent of the funds following the campaign.
