Robert Eugene Morrison, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the age of 83.

At 64, Bob was elected as an Alderman for Ward 4 in the City of St. Peters in April 2001, and served on the City’s Board for 6 years. When he was first elected, his son, Jeff Morrison, was also elected to serve as a Ward 2 Alderman. Running in separate wards, the pair blanketed the City in signs requesting voters to simply “VOTE MORRISON.” They did, and father and son proudly served together until his son was elected to the St. Charles County Council.

Before retiring to St. Peters to be near his grandsons, Bob lived in Raytown, MO where he worked in a lively variety of jobs, including substitute teacher, cab driver, barber, riverboat black-jack dealer, and Royal/Chiefs ballpark beer vendor. As a vendor, he also served as the other employees’ shop steward, and ultimately was elected as the Union vice-president for the Service Employee’s Local 96 in KC.

Earlier, Bob served his country as an enlisted soldier in the United States Army, twice. After high school, he served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, where he also boxed for the interdivisional boxing team. Years after being discharged, he re-enlisted and served in the 1st Infantry. Then, with the G.I. Bill, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Pat Morrison, a retired school teacher who taught 5th Grade at Norfleet Elementary. Bob and Pat were avid swing and ballroom dancers, and for many years were active in local dance clubs.

Along with Pat and Jeff, he is also survived by his sister Barbara Hobbs and his three grandsons: Robert Joshua, Benjamin Jacob, and Jeffrey Luke Morrison.
