  1. In-person Absentee voting will be held TODAY from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at and on Monday, November 2 from 8:30 a.m. until  5 p.m. Absentee voting requires that you have a REASON for voting absentee.  Anyone who is 65 or older automatically qualifies because they are in an at-risk category for COVID.  The Absentee Voting Office is at 110 N Liberty in Independence.
  1. Curbside voting at our Absentee Office at 110 N Liberty is available only for disabled and immunocompromised voters today from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m and on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  1. The Jackson County Election Board will have special accommodations on Saturday, October 31 and on Election Day for individuals who have tested positive or who are quarantining because of COVID.  Drive-through voting for these voters will be available from 1:00-3:30 TODAY and all day on Election Day from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. behind our Absentee Office at 110 N Liberty in Independence.  Any voter who has tested positive for COVID and has an absentee or mail-in ballot that needs notarization may also use the special drive-through hours today.
  1. Only KANSAS CITY voters can vote at Arrowhead Stadium.  Voters in Raytown, Grandview, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Independence, Oak Grove, Grain Valley, Lone Jack, etc. in Eastern Jackson County must do their absentee voting at 110 N Liberty in Independence.
  1. If you’ve requested a MAIL-IN ballot (one that did not require a reason for requesting it), you must MAIL it back to the Election Board and the envelope must be notarized.  Now that there likely isn’t enough time to mail a ballot back…voters may go to the Independence Post Office on Lexington Street and ask the post office to “hand cancel” their ballot envelope so that it goes directly into our post office box and doesn’t have to travel.
  1. If you have an ABSENTEE ballot that was mailed to you, you can drop it off at our Absentee Drop-off Office at 112 N Liberty, Independence. There is no drop box.  You must go in and present your ID.
  1. The Election Board must receive your ballot by 7pm on Election Day.
  1. Voters who live in JACKSON COUNTY – NOT IN KANSAS CITY – can find their polling location and their sample ballot on our website at www.jcebmo.org.  Click on “VOTER LOOKUP.”
  1. Voters who live in KANSAS CITY need to consult the KANSAS CITY ELECTION BOARD at www.kceb.org.
