The Recorder of Deeds office at Jackson County’s Historic Truman Courthouse, located at 112 W. Lexington Avenue in Independence, will be closed for the remainder of this week due to a County employee testing positive for COVID-19.

Residents who need to conduct business with the Recorder of Deeds office are encouraged to:

• Go Online at www.jacksongov.org
• Call (816) 881-3191
• Visit a surrounding county office for a Missouri marriage license

It is important to remember that this closure does not impact the Assessment and Collection departments, both of which have offices inside the Historic Truman Courthouse and remain open to serve those who need in-person assistance.

The County will provide any additional updates on its website and social media platforms.
