The Jackson County Legislators passed an ordinance to help members of our community during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic with economic hardships allowing a reduced fee by 50% (fifty percent on their 2021 Jackson County food safety and environmental health permits and inspections. This is open to all establishments except for the fee for aquatic venues.

Any permit holder or facility operator who has already paid the designated 2021 fee as of the effective date of this Ordinance (November 9, 2020), is entitled to receive a refund of the amount overpaid, after applying to the Jackson County Environmental Health Administrator. Application must be made on or before December 31, 2020.

If your permit renewal date is March 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 and you have already paid your renewal fee but, are in need of financial assistance please fill out the Application for Refund online www.jacksongov.org/eh or print and email to dsees@jacksongov.org. If you have not paid and you need financial assistance, please contact our office at 816-847-7070. Permits renewing in January and February will be adjusted with the 50% rate.
