SCA sixth grade student Paris Newton helps pack boxes for the 2020 SCA Food Drive. Over 5,000 food items were collected to help feed 300 Kansas City families this Thanksgiving

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) elementary students recently united to donate over 5,000 food items to bless Kansas City families with a Thanksgiving meal, through the annual SCA Thanksgiving Food Drive. The items- including canned fruit, canned veggies, boxed foods, and paper goods- were enough to pack 300 boxes.

One of the Core Values at SCA is to Cultivate Community, and the food drive helps SCA students understand the importance of serving, generosity, and helping their local and global community. SCA joined forces with outreach endeavors at Courageous Life Church in Independence, Heart-N-Hand Ministries in Belton, and Victory in His Presents in Kansas City.

SCA sixth grade students recently packed up the food items into boxes and loaded onto trucks, and sent them off to be shared with families in the Kansas City area.
