The 2020 season resumes this week for the Kansas City Chiefs with an entertaining matchup as the team makes its first ever trip to Las Vegas for a game. There are a lot of fun options to choose from for visitors to the Las Vegas area but for the Chiefs it will be all business as they renew their rivalry against the Raiders who now call Las Vegas home.

Chiefs fans love to talk about “Raiders week” whenever it’s time for another Chiefs/Raiders game. Raising the interest level in this long running series is the fact the Chiefs enter this latest edition with an 8-1 record. The lone loss for the Chiefs came on October 11 at Arrowhead to the Raiders by a final score of 40-32. The Raiders stopped several streaks the Chiefs enjoyed on that Sunday afternoon in KC. Now the Chiefs look to start a few streaks with a win on the Raiders home field called Allegiant Stadium.

The Raiders are having a fine time right now sitting at 6-3 two games behind the Chiefs. What’s fine is the Raiders beating fellow AFC West Division rivals LA Chargers and Denver Broncos in back to back weeks. With a win on Sunday night they would enjoy a clean sweep of the division in consecutive weeks. A season sweep and closing the gap to just one game behind the Chiefs is the Raiders goal as they prepare for this rematch.

This week a number of players on both teams have been in the spotlight for various reasons. The Chiefs welcomed back starting WR Sammy Watkins after the team’s bye week. That good news was met along with the not so good news of both starting offensive tackles could be missing out on the fun in Vegas. Eric Fisher was put on team’s reserve/COVID-19 list, Schwartz was added to the same list but has already been out due to a back injury. The Raiders put eight players on their COVID-19 list with seven of them on the defensive side of the ball.

Following a bye week every year Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid has been known to have success. Reid’s all-time record is at 18-3 following a bye, it’s at 5-2 with the Chiefs. Another interesting record to be aware of is the Reid vs Gruden series is even at five. Coach Reid has beaten his Las Vegas counterpart four out of the last five meetings.

If this week 11 matchup is played as scheduled the Chiefs and Raiders will look to entertain the entire nation thanks to Sunday Night Football on NBC. The popular TV crew of Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth will call the action. No doubt the Raiders are on a roll but the Chiefs have won seven road games in a row. With the extra time the Chiefs coaches have had to prepare and many players personally unhappy with how the last meeting ended expect the visitors to enjoy this business trip to Las Vegas leaving town with a win. That’s What I REID Into It for this week.
