Lee’s Summit, Mo.— On Tuesday, December 15th at approximately 7:00 am emergency crews were called to the 500 block of NE Howard Avenue on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived on the scene they found a female victim deceased in the apartment. Officers also located a male in the apartment that had a minor, non life threatening injury. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment and detectives are currently processing the scene for evidence.

The initial investigation indicates that the incident was contained to the persons inside the apartment and police are not seeking any additional suspects at this time.

The victim in the incident has been identified as 26-year-old Amanda Phillips.  Our investigation into the incident is on-going.
