Door Systems of Lee’s Summit has donated $5,000 to Pleasant Lea Middle School (PLMS), helping the local school purchase new scoreboards for gyms A and B. The 2020-2021 school year has been an unprecedented time for education, a lesson in safety and flexibility with hybrid schedules and virtual learning. Jim Payne, owner of Door Systems Lee’s Summit, wanted to give back in a way that would benefit all those affected, the academic body as a whole.

The upgraded scoreboards will facilitate score keeping and also include features aimed at increasing fan and community engagement. It’s an opportunity for students, teachers, staff, parents, and visitors to enjoy the camaraderie of extracurricular activities and embrace the elevated enthusiasm today’s technology has to offer.

“It’s a win-win for everyone and that’s the best score of all,” – Jim Payne
