“Holding a fundraiser in 2020 has taken a whole new meaning and lots of pivoting,” said Carl Froeschle, event chair for Feed Lee’s Summit. “We were determined to put this event in front of our supporters and raise money during one of the most critical times for families in our memory.”

Matt Sanning (Lee’s Summit Social Service)

Nearly 300 viewers watched the live, online Nov. 12 event, which featured silent auctions and messages from community members and local nonprofit executives.

Roberta McArthur (One Good Meal)

“We cannot express enough our gratitude to all who supported Feed Lee’s Summit this year,” Froeschle said. “Food insecurity is at or near the top of the list of action items many nonprofits are battling during this pandemic. The generosity of many allowed us to help address those food needs for Lee’s Summit families through our nonprofit partners.”

Monica Humbard (Coldwater of Lee’s Summit)

Plans are already underway for 2021 Feed Lee’s Summit, scheduled for Nov. 18, 2021 at the Pavilion at John Knox Village.

Feed Lee’s Summit distributed a total $30,000 this week to help feed people here in our community. Carl Froeschle, Chair of Feed Lee’s Summit, presented $7,500 checks to Susie Newsam (Meals on Wheels), Matt Sanning (Lee’s Summit Social Service), Roberta McArthur (One Good Meal) and Monica Humbard (Coldwater of Lee’s Summit). Feed Lee’s Summit is thankful to the many sponsors, local businesses, and the residents of Lee’s Summit who have made this event meaningful for our community.
