The first day of filing has ended!
Ballot placement is determined by lottery on the first day of filing. Candidates for the April 2021 election will appear as follows, with the lottery number that they drew shown next to their name:

SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS
Public Notice of Filing

The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District will accept Declarations of Candidacy for any person in running for a position on the School Board in the April 6, 2021 election. Persons interested may file with the Secretary of the Board of Education at the school district’s offices
located at 301 NE Tudor Road, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64086.
Filing will begin on December 22, 2020 at 8 a.m. The office will close for winter recess at 4:30
p.m. on December 22, 2020.

Filing will continue during the district’s regular business hours
January 4, 2021 through January 19, 2021 which are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Filing will not occur on days that the school district’s offices are closed due to inclement weather. In the event the district is closed due to a COVID-related event, registration
will be by appointment only and made by contacting the board secretary at 816-986-1008. The district’s offices will be closed December 23 – December 31, 2020, January 1-3, 2021 and, January 18, 2021 and therefore, will not be accepting candidate filings on those dates. Filing will end on January 19, 2021 with the office staying open until 5 p.m. that day.
There are two positions available with three-year terms.

Candidates filing on the last day should arrive by 4:30 p.m. to make sure the filing
process is completed by the 5 p.m. deadline. The clock cannot be held. Required
documents must be checked and the declaration of candidacy, including signature,
must be completed by 5 p.m.
Placement on Ballot:
Ballot placement will be determined by lottery on the first day of filing. Candidates who
filed declarations at or before 4:30 p.m. on the opening filing day shall be listed on the
ballot in ascending order of the numbers so drawn. All other candidates shall be listed
below those who filed declarations of candidacy on the first day of filing, in the order
they file their declarations.
This is in accordance with board policy BBB adopted by the Board of Education
October 11, 2001, §115.395.2, RSMo Supp. 1997
